About: Diagnosis of Benign Positional Vertigo
 
This set of maneuvers involves the assessment of patient response to changes in body position. It is called the Dix-Hallpike test, or the Nylan-Barany maneuver. It is used to confirm a diagnosis of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo due to debris in the semicircular canal.
